Western Bulldogs’ greats, including former captain Matthew Boyd (pictured with pen in hand), dropped into Sunshine Hospital last week to inspire a few young patients to get back on their feet for the third annual WalkWest.
Organised by the Western Health Foundation, the event offers a 5km or 10km stroll along the Maribyrnong River on Sunday, March 6, starting at Doug Mills Reserve, Footscray.
More than 1000 participants joined last year’s walk, which raises funds for Western Health to improve healthcare for children in the west.
You don’t have to be a fitness freak to take part, and there will be food vans, coffee, kids’ entertainment, aerobic warm-ups and a WalkWest DJ live in Footscray Park.
