Tullamarine man on gun-running charges

A Tullamarine man has been charged with multiple firearm offences after police seized more than 20,000 rounds of ammunition at a Tullamarine property on Wednesday morning.

Twenty unregistered firearms were also found at the Brunton Crescent house including pistols, rifles, shot guns and silencers following a search around 9am.

The 48-year-old man was charged with a range of offences including trafficking firearms, possess non registered long arms and handguns, possess silencers without a permit and possess ammunition.

His firearms licence was also suspended.

He will face the Melbourne Magistrate’s Court on February 10.
