The largest contributor to dust pollution in the Brooklyn industrial precinct has been eradicated with the sealing of Jones and Bunting roads.
The roads produced at least 31 per cent of dust emissions in the precinct, according to a 2011 EPA study.
Brimbank council footed $750,000 of the total cost for the road sealing project, with the state government covering the remaining $1.85 million.

The dust from industrial traffic on the roads caused significant air pollution in the area, with particulate, or PM10, emissions higher than recommended levels.
Last year, the EPA recorded PM10 levels exceeding recommended levels on 28 days, but between January and August this year, there were only eight days when these levels were exceeded.
The completion of the $2.6million project was marked last Friday with an on-site event.
