About 450 western suburbs women put on their heels and lippy to raise money for breast and ovarian cancer research at Taylors Lakes last week.
The Girls’ Night In event was held in honour of Sue Derincat, who died in April this year aged 36, almost four years after her battle with breast cancer began.
The annual event, organised by Melton resident Joan Quigley, raised more than $28,000, and all donations will go to the Cancer Council Australia.
It’s the ninth consecutive year Ms Quigley has organised a Girls’ Night In, raising close to $170,000 over this time.
Girls’ Night In co-ordinator Lulu Nyirenda said Ms Quigley’s events were “incredible”.
“She raises an amazing amount of funds for Cancer Council Victoria that go towards our research, prevention programs and support services.”
