Budding cricketers at Overnewton Anglican Community College were given some tips in the nets by one of the game’s emerging stars last Thursday.
The school’s year 9 boys’ team was put to the test by Australian and Victorian women’s cricketer Nicola Hancock.
Keen to get more girls involved, 19-year-old Hancock will continue visiting the college and has another clinic lined up next month.
“I’ve done a lot of clinics in my time and I could not tell you how happy I was with this school’s enthusiasm,” Hancock said.
Head of sport Carolyn Sadler said the school was proud to promote the “women in sport” message to all its students.
