DANDENONG: Boy, 3, killed in Potter Street house fire

A toddler is dead after a fire broke out in a block of units in Dandenong.

Victoria Police have confirmed a three-year-old boy died in the blaze in an apartment in Potter Street about 10.45am.

Ambulance Victoria is on the scene but a spokesman said there was no need to treat anyone for injuries.

Fire crews were called to the flats in Potter Street just before 11am.

It took just under half an hour to bring the blaze under control and the scene has now been handed over to police investigators.

Police will prepare a report for the corner.
