A man has broken his leg after he was struck by a flying wheelie bin in St Albans.
Police say a St Albans woman, aged 41, was driving along Main Road East at about 11.10pm on Thursday when she lost control of the car.
The car flipped onto its roof, hitting a bin which then struck a man walking on the footpath nearby, a Victoria Police spokeswoman said.
The St Albans man, 29, suffered a broken leg and was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
A male passenger in the car suffered minor injuries and was also taken to the Royal Melbourne. The car’s driver and another passenger were uninjured.
Police say the woman refused a preliminary breath test and was then arrested. The investigation is ongoing.
