A brick was thrown through a car windscreen and landed in the driver’s lap as he drove along the Monash Freeway on Tuesday night.
The brick was thrown from a foot bridge near Ivanhoe Grove, Malvern East, about 7.45pm, police said.
The driver, a 38-year-old South Morang man, was driving his Mercedes van city-bound along the freeway at the time.
It smashed through the front windscreen of the car and landed on the driver’s lap. He was not injured.
Police are seeking witnesses to the incident.
