MORNINGTON: Jetskier’s ute rolls into ocean

A Ford ute loading a jetski has plunged into the ocean at Mornington after the driver reportedly got his thongs stuck under the vehicle’s pedals.

The 27 year-old driver was loading jetskies into the vehicle when it reversed off a jetty and plummeted into the water at 3pm on Friday. It was fully submerged.

Police reported the man made multiple trips to the sinking ute to save his personal belongings.

No injuries were reported and police have ruled out alcohol or drugs as a contributing factor to the incident.

One onlooker, Mitchell Beer, said he was surprised by the incident.

“I was shocked really,” Mr Beer told Radio 3AW.

“It was something you would only see in a car insurance ad. No one could do anything but watch it drift out to sea.”
