Family fun with Ford and Disney-Pixar

This summer, Ford Australia is inviting residents in Melbourne to get behind the wheel of their range of products as they host the Ultimate SMART Drive; demonstrating the ease with which customers can experience the future in in-car technology today.

Far from your usual test drive, customers will navigate Ford shipping containers, steep ramps and test tracks, in a range of Ford vehicles, and see just how smart, capable and practical the Ford range is – from the Kuga’s hands-free tailgate to Ford’s in-car SYNC connectivity technology.

For the kids, a whole new world will come to life with the Disney-Pixar Cars Truck Tour.  Life-sized replicas of Mack The Transporter and Lightning McQueen from the hit Disney-Pixar film, Cars, will be on hand to meet the kids and have their photos taken. Also set and ready to go will be the Ford Junior Training Track, for the little ones to test their peddle power and learn the rules of the road.

The event, which runs from January 17 to February 2 at the South Wharf Promenade (outside the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre), is putting people in touch and up-to-date with the technologies that customers desire and expect in a Ford.

Participation in the SMART Drive will also help Ford Australia reach its target of donating up to $100,000 to breast cancer research with five dollars being donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation for every SMART drive undertaken.

WHEN: 17 January to 2 February, 2014; 10AM – 6PM

WHERE: South Wharf Promenade Outside the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre
