UPDATE: A man has been charged following the murder of a Port Melbourne woman in Prahran last night.
Police were called to a housing commission apartment in Essex Street about 12.45am and discovered a woman deceased on the lounge room floor.
Homicide Squad’s Detective Senior Sergeant Stuart Bailey said a 44-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Prahran Police Station for questioning.
The man was later charged with one count of murder.
