ESSENDON: Man arrested after alleged road rage

A man has been arrested over an alleged road rage incident involving a gun in Essendon.

Moreland Road was closed for more than an hour between Pascoe Vale Road and CityLink in Essendon shortly after 4pm as the situation unfolded.

A 56-year-old man was taken into custody on Monday afternoon and was assisting police with their ongoing investigation.

He was arrested at a block of flats not far from from the scene of the alleged road incident, a police spokesman said.

Police, including the critical incident response team, attended after another motorist reported a gun was pulled on him on the road.

It is understood the accused man took his pants off during the incident.

Moreland Road was reopened on Monday afternoon.
