Albion ‘shop’ mess clean-up ordered

An Albion man has been ordered to clean up an “unsightly” property that was being used as a makeshift shop.

Brimbank council took Milan Zukanovic to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal for using a Ballarat Road block for a back-up store.

A hearing on September 13 found that Mr Zukanovic, who did not appear, was guilty of unauthorised use of land.

The tribunal found that the land was being used as an ‘‘overflow storage’’ for a business carried out on adjoining land.

‘‘I accept that the current condition of the land is unsightly,’’ tribunal member Dalia Smith said. ‘‘I consider that it is appropriate for the unauthorised use of the land to cease.”

Mr Zukanovic was instructed to remove all goods, including shipping containers, rubbish, motor vehicles, vehicle parts and equipment, by November 15.
