Keilor Primary School pupils add creative touch to play zone

Pupils of a Keilor school will leave their own creative impression on a million-dollar outdoor playground at Brimbank Park.

Work on the new playground began last Tuesday. It will feature art created by Keilor Primary School children.

The playground is designed to encourage children of all abilities to explore the outdoors, with flying foxes and slides set among native trees and shrubs.

The project is funded by the state government in partnership with Variety, the People and Parks Foundation and John T. Reid Charitable Trusts.

Children and Early Childhood Minister Wendy Lovell officially opened $800,000 upgrades to Parkwood Green Children’s and Community Centre in Hillside last Tuesday.

The redevelopment includes a new community room for programs such as occasional care and play group, and a fourth kindergarten room with capacity for 33 more children.
