A DEER Park woman and an Eltham man were arrested after a stolen car was tracked at speeds higher than 200km/h on the Hume Freeway on Saturday night.
Police said the man, 41, was driving a white Commodore which was first reported as being involved in several incidents in NSW.
The 22-year-old woman was a passenger. Police spotted the car from the air at Kalkallo and tracked it as it turned onto the Craigieburn bypass.
When it hit a trailer being towed by a 4WD a truck driver stopped to help.
Police said the pair tried to steal the truck before they were arrested.
The man will face numerous charges, they said, and the woman will be charged with stealing a car.
