THREE Sunshine competitors have shown true fighting spirit at the Sydney international karate championships.
The Samurai Karate Sunshine trio had a total of five top-three finishes.
Thomas Olsen (right) backed up his title in the under-21, 68-kilogram division with another win in the event for under 67kg.
In his first major meet since a successful entry into European competitions in November, Olsen showed the kind of form that could make him Australia’s representative in the world championships in Paris in October.
Vincent Nguyen (also pictured) finished third in the men’s division for under 74kg and second in the under-21 75kg division.
Jai Hunt was third in the under-52kg cadets (ages 14 and 15), losing in the final seconds to the eventual gold medallist.
Hunt now has his eye on the Australian open in Sydney in April.
