Regional Rail Link: Line to close at Easter for works

BUSES will replace trains on the Sydenham line from Footscray to Watergardens at Easter.

The line will be closed for Regional Rail Link works from 9pm on Thursday until the last service on Monday.

Journey times will be up to 30 minutes longer.

Works planned in Sunshine and Albion include tree removal near KG Chaplin Reserve and along Forrest Street, and installation of overhead foundations in the rail corridor next to Matthews Street and at Albion railway station.

Residents are being warned to expect noise from large machinery and vehicles that may extend into the night.

Work to confirm ground conditions and the location of underground services in Sunshine will continue throughout the month. It will be carried out at the Anderson Road level crossings, near Sunshine railway station and in the rail corridor, and is expected to cause disruption to traffic.

Details: 1800 107 925.
