A MAN armed with a “Rambo” style knife has escaped empty handed after attempting to hold up a St Albans bottle shop.
At 12.20pm Monday the man entered the Main Road West shop and demanded cash from the two attendants, a man and a woman both aged 45 years.
The male victim grabbed hold of the man as he tried to steal cash from the till and grabbed the knife during a struggle.
He also ripped off the man’s jacket and knocked his sunglasses and cap off before the offender fled the store.
As the victim took chase a female accomplice lookout stepped in front of him to stop him.
The offender is described as Caucasian, aged 20–30 and about 175 centimetres.
He escaped into a maroon or purple coloured hatch with stolen registration plates UDN 596.
The woman is described as being in her 30s, Caucasian with false teeth.
