TOP spot in the Victorian Netball League championship division has slipped through the fingers of western suburbs clubs City West Falcons and VU-Western Lightning with narrow defeats.
The Falcons lost 49-46 to new ladder-leader Peninsula Waves at the State Netball and Hockey Centre on Wednesday night.
The Lightning had a nailbiting 36-35 loss to Yarra Valley Grammar Ariels at the same venue.
