TEN teenagers have been charged over a crime rampage across the western suburbs.
Footscray detectives issued 75 charges after the two-week spree.
Ten males and two females aged 14-19 were arrested last Tuesday and Wednesday over armed robberies, burglaries, motor vehicle thefts, pursuits, assault of a police dog and other offences.
The alleged offences occurred in Laverton, Maribyrnong, Sunshine, Avondale Heights, Braybrook, Hoppers Crossing, Ravenhall, Footscray, Maidstone and Melton.
Stolen goods worth tens of thousands of dollars were recovered after warrants were executed in relation to the incidents.
Charged with offences including theft and burglary were a Derrimut girl, 15; a Sunshine West boy, 14; a Derrimut man, 19; an Albanvale boy, 16; a Caroline Springs man, 18; and a Caroline Springs boy, 16.
A number of those arrested have already faced a children’s court and Sunshine Magistrates Court.
“Police from Footscray, Wyndham, the dog squad and other specialised police units have all been involved in this investigation in order to achieve this significant outcome,” Maribyrnong’s Inspector Tony Long said.
