Recyclers rewarded

BRIMBANK Council has rewarded almost 150 residents as part of its annual ‘Brimbank Gem’ recycling inspection campaign.

After six weeks, the campaign is nearing completion and already 142 rewards cards have been delivered to the households of bins containing only the correct recycling material.

Council chairman Peter Lewinsky says inspectors were impressed with the number of residents doing the right thing.

“It’s great to be able to run a campaign with such a positive impact on the environment and positive response from residents.”
