Big V: Keilor smashes Lady Jets

KEILOR Thunder had it all their own way in a 60-37 drubbing of finals contenders Sunbury Lady Jets in the Victorian Basketball League Big V women’s division 1 at the Keilor Basketball Stadium on Saturday night.

Jessica Francke was an imposing presence for the Thunder with a stellar effort, scoring 19points and nine rebounds.

That made her the most valuable player on the night.

With the game virtually sewn up at half-time, it gave Thunder coach Steve Toy the opportunity to spread the minutes.

The result was all nine players received considerable time on the court.

The Thunder will head into Saturday’s final round clash against Warrnambool Mermaids on the road with a carefree approach knowing they are out of the running for the finals and will be hoping to spring a surprise.
