Hotel plan for more pokies rejected

BRIMBANK Council has knocked back an application to increase the number of electronic gaming machines at the Watergardens Hotel.

The administrators voted unanimously against the hotel’s proposal to increase the number of poker machines from 70 to 76.

Administrator Joanne Anderson said the council’s policy was to reduce pokie numbers in Brimbank and curb problem gambling.
