Sunshine Primary  School’s hard rock history

SUNSHINE Primary School is celebrating its rock’n’roll history after being presented with a class photo that includes former pupil and AC/DC frontman Bon Scott.

The photo was part of an international exhibition curated by the Victorian Arts Centre. AC/DC: Australia’s Family Jewels attracted large crowds in Seattle, USA, after opening in May. Grade 6 pupil Kelly, Scott’s prep teacher Isabel Bell and grade 5 pupil Jackson accepted the 1953 photo from the Arts Centre’s senior curator, Tim Fisher.

Scott attended the school until he was 10, after which he and his family moved to Fremantle. Principal Lyn Read said the photo and other memorabilia would be displayed in the library. “Children at the school are from many different backgrounds so it’s a good opportunity to show them you can achieve great things after leaving school, no matter where you come from.”
