Bowls Victoria: Plucky Parkers draw, but cling to leaders

DEER Park played out a dramatic 9-71 draw with Bundoora RSL in Bowls Victoria division 1.

It means the Parkers will hold their spot in the top four heading into the season’s final month

They face second-placed Elsternwick Club in a crucial 15th round encounter on Saturday.

In division 2, Keilor, who entered the round three wins outside the top four, slipped further back in section 2 with a 16-88 to 2-65 loss to Moonee Ponds. There were heavy losses for Sunshine RSL and Sunshine City in section 1.

Those two rivals are already out of the finals picture and fighting to stave off relegation.

Sunshine VRI won a one-shot nailbiter 14-82 to 4-81 over Werribee RSL in division 3.

It keeps VRI’s slim finals hopes alive.

St Albans suffered a 15-78 to 3-68 defeat to high-flying City of Melbourne.
