VTCA: Keilor Blues pull out a double whammy

AARON Mato put Keilor in the box seat against Spotswood in the Victorian Turf Cricket Association senior division at McLean Reserve on Saturday.

Mato blasted 127 from the top of the order to produce the bulk of his side’s 218 off 68.5 overs.

The Woodsmen stuttered to stumps on 3-25 after a devastating three-wicket spell to Blues quick Jody Hutchinson late in the day.

In north division, the game between finals hunters Keilor Park and Williamstown CYMS is evenly poised at Fearon Reserve.

CYs could manage only 186 off 65.4, but the Devils’ response was no more convincing, limping to stumps on 2-12.

Sunshine Druids have a red-hot chance of making it back-to-back wins for the first time this summer.

Meanwhile, Kealba-Green Gully has battered Roxburgh Park-Broadmeadows for 3-343 declared in the North West Metropolitan Cricket Association Luscombe Shield.

The Cougars leader Andrew Lambropoulos made a stunning 179 not out and had assistance from Matthew Nadzielski (65) and Daniel Hewitt (55 not out).
