Man on counterfeit charge

Counterfeit notes and equipment have been seized from a house in Braybrook. Police raided the Beachley Street house about 9.30pm on Thursday and found more than 100 counterfeit $50 notes and equipment used to manufacture them. Drugs believed to be methamphetamine, cannabis and ecstasy were also found, police said. A Braybrook man, 38 was bailed to appear in Sunshine Magistrates Court on May 7.

Body-building burglar on the prowl

Police are seeking a body-conscious burglar who robbed a Deer Park health store. Investigators say an employee accidentally dropped the keys to the store near the Ballarat premises on February 22. A burglar found them and used them to enter the shop about 2.30am, taking $6000 worth of body-building supplements. The man was described as of Pacific Islander appearance, in his 20s, with short dark hair and an athletic build.

Upgrade for Green Gully Reserve

Brimbank Council will spend more than $1.8 million upgrading Green Gully Reserve.Chairman John Watson says improvements will include two new changerooms, umpire rooms and kiosks. Work begins in May.
