Play time: Brimbank Church of Christ has a new playgroup program for newborns to preschoolers. It’s called Mainly Music and is from 10.30am, Mondays, at 59 Milleara Road, Keilor East. Strictly ballroom: Brimbank Community Ballroom Dance Club holds a dance on the first Saturday of every month at the Keilor Bowls Club, 1 Barcelona Avenue, Keilor. Details: 0408 300 770.

Concert band: The Western Region Concert Band rehearses from 9am, Saturdays, in Errington Community Centre, Princess Street, St Albans. Entry by side gate next to football oval. Vacancies exist for percussion, brass and saxophone players. Bring your instrument and enjoy playing with us. Details: 9687 6644.

Volunteers needed: AMES provides support for newly arrived refugees in the western suburbs and is seeking volunteers to help clients settle in their new community. Details: 8398 4700 or jaenschm@ames.net.au.
