THE Main Road level crossing in St Albans is a step closer to becoming history, with Brimbank council supporting VicRoads’ request to Planning Minister Matthew Guy to amend the planning scheme and reserve land for the project.
But St Albans Traders Association’s president Asip Demiri said the government wasn’t giving enough detail.
“Just get it done,” he said. “The government must stop mucking around with words. We want to know when it’s starting and when it’s going to be completed.”
VicRoads has designs for ‘rail over’ and ‘rail under’ options at the site, where there have been two deaths and many near misses since 2006.
