Sixty in St Albans soccer brawl

POLICE believe at least 60 people were involved in a violent brawl at a soccer match in St Albans.

Police were called to a soccer oval in Larissa Road about 4.50pm on June 29 following reports of fighting.

Victoria Police spokesman Adam West said at least 60 people, including players, officials and spectators, are believed to have taken part in the brawl.

While dispersing the crowd, officers discovered a 19-year-old boy and a 54-year-old man suffering facial injuries. They were taken to hospital for treatment.
