D-day for dad and daughter

HILLSIDE resident Paul Wood will tackle The Age Run Melbourne half-marathon this Sunday.

The event will have special significance for Wood – it marks the first anniversary of a serious health scare.

He is pictured with his daughter Lily, who was walking with him when he had a heart attack and who, he says, saved his life.

Melbourne’s premier charity race, Run Melbourne, gives participants the chance to tackle a five-kilometre run/walk, 10-kilometre run or half-marathon.

Since it was first held in 2008, Run Melbourne has raised more than $4.7 million for 400 charities across Australia.
