A MAN is under police guard in Royal Melbourne Hospital after a three-car collision and altercation in Caroline Springs.
The man was allegedly caught breaking into a vehicle in Kororoit about 7.10am last Thursday and fled in another car after being challenged.
The vehicle owner followed him to Caroline Springs, where both cars were involved in a collision with a third vehicle at the intersection of Rockbank Middle Road and Caroline Springs Boulevard.
The man accused of the break-in was arrested. He suffered serious facial injury while being restrained by the man who followed him and another man.
A Caroline Springs man, 23, is expected to be charged on summons with assault and reckless conduct endangering life. The third man was released pending further inquiries.
