EDFL: Keilor Park has luck of the Devils

KEILOR Park will meet East Keilor in a semi-final this weekend
after luck fell the Devils’ way in the Essendon District Football League
division 2 on Saturday.

The Devils travelled to Hillside and were absolutely smashed by the premiership favourites, going down by 122 points.

But, thanks to Coburg Districts’ one-point win over Roxburgh Park, Keilor Park hung on to fourth spot on the ladder.

Had Roxburgh Park won, it would have snared fourth because of a
superior percentage. Magpies captain Ben Stone had a chance to win the
game after the siren but missed from a long way out.

At Hillside Reserve, the Sharks were irresistible, winning every
quarter comfortably. Keilor Park was held scoreless in the opening term
and by half-time was trailing by 83.

Fabio Dilizia (six goals), Mark Micallef (six) and Paul Edwards
(three) were unstoppable in attack, taking their combined goals total
for the season to 169.

Hillside plays Moonee Valley in the other semi-final this weekend.

In division 1 Taylors Lakes went down by 38 points to Glenroy. The
Lions finished fourth on the table and will take on Tullamarine in a
semi-final this weekend.

Glenroy kicked seven goals to none in the first quarter and led by
46 points at quarter-time, a deficit Taylors Lakes could not overcome.

In the premier division, Keilor got its seventh win of the year, belting Essendon Doutta Stars by 95 points.

The Blues led by 32 points at quarter-time and killed the contest with six goals to nil in the third term.
