Kealba medical clinic damaged in suspicious fire

A western suburbs medical centre nearly collapsed on Saturday morning in a fire deemed suspicious by police.

The two-storey centre – in Valewood Rd, Kealba, near St Albans – was “extensively damaged” by the fire, “with a part of the second floor in danger of collapse”, according to the Metropolitan Fire Brigade.

The MFB have put the damage bill at $400,000.

The blaze was first reported at 1.24am, and was under control in 20 minutes, said the MFB. Six vehicles and 18 firefighters attended.
