Dandenong South fire destroys factory

DANDENONG SOUTH: About 100 firefighters helped battle a huge fire at a Dandenong South factory on Thursday night, September 19.

The fire, which ignited at about 6pm, gutted a flooring factory in Dunlopillo Drive in Dandenong South. 

It sent thick black smoke skyward and drifting over neighbouring factories, houses and across the Monash Freeway.

More than 30 fire appliances and about 100 firefighters battled the huge blaze, which was described by the CFA in an update issued at 8.42pm as being “controlled”.
