Jewellery heist and a Cinderella car thief

Police in Brimbank were kept busy at the weekend with a jewellery heist in Sunshine and a car thief who left evidence at the scene of the crime.

A large amount of jewellery and watches were stolen from a store at Sunshine Marketplace during a brazen raid on Saturday morning.

Three thieves drove to the Harvester Road entrance and reversed the car before forcing entry, just after 3am.

Once inside, the trio broke into a jewellery store and smashed the display cabinets to steal the loot, before fleeing in a silver Nissan Pulsar hatch.

Meanwhile police are appealing for witnesses after a car theft in Deer Park where the female thief left a shoe behind.

A 55-year-old Deer Park man was unloading his car on Robinsons Road about 6.30pm when a woman stole the car, sneaking through the open door with the keys in the ignition, police say.

The man tried to stop the theft by grabbing the door of the 2002 Gold Toyota Tarago before the woman reversed out of the driveway.

The man was dragged a short distance and suffered minor leg injuries.

Police are looking for a 2002 Gold Toyota Tarago, registration number TLG 003.

The woman is described as Caucasian, in her late teens to early 20s, with fair hair, a slim build and was last seen wearing dark clothing and one black Slazenger slip-on style shoe.
