Albanvale man loses ute after driving 63km/h over limit

A man has lost his ute for 30 days after he was caught speeding in Albanvale on Sunday night.

Brimbank Highway Patrol members were patrolling at the intersection of Main Road West and Kings Road when they saw a 2002 black Holden SS ute speed out of a service station about 8.30pm.

Police clocked the ute travelling at 123km/h in a 60km/h zone as the vehicle overtook another car on the wrong side of Main Road West.

They lost sight of the ute but later visited an address in Albanvale and spoke to a 39-year-old man.

The ute was immediately impounded under the hoon legislation.

The man is expected to be charged on summons with speeding, overtaking when unsafe and unlicensed driving.
