Adalita Srsen, an Australian rock musician, is joining Record Store Day Australia (RSDA) ambassadors Marcia Hines, Dan Sultan, Tim Dalton and Ian Hunter to support the annual music event.
On April 19, the music industry highlights the importance of traditional music outlets. They are one of the major avenues for the public to discover the many genres of music releases each year.
Record labels will have special releases for the day, plus there will be in-store promotions, band performances and signings, and in-store sales all over Australia.
Melbourne has plenty of events scheduled, in celebration of the day. Dan Sultan will perform songs from his new album, Blackbird, at Readings in St Kilda from 2pm.
Obese Records in Prahran will have local DJs and producers, Sheriff Rosco, Dyl Thomas, Alter Ego and Slap618, in-store playing a selection of hip-hop, funk, soul and more.
There will also be live music from 3pm courtesy of WonderBoy, Empat Lima and Chook Race at TITLE – Australia’s largest independent retailer of quality Books, Music and Film, since 2006.
Finally, Quality Records…Plus in Malvern is celebrating their 20th anniversary, and will have Geoff Achison in the store at 2pm for classic blues and originals from his 30-year career.
