Power went out at 245 properties across Keilor Downs on Tuesday afternoon.
A Powercor spokesperson said power was lost between 4.08pm and 6.18pm.
The loss of power was eventually traced to Arial Court, Keilor Downs, however no clear cause was found.
“It could be caused by a bird or a possum on the power lines, or it could be due to the wet weather causing a branch to fall,” he said.
“245 of our customers were affected by the loss of power.”
