St Albans stabbing: Warrant issued for a man’s arrest

UPDATE: Homicide Squad detectives are appealing for Vatthana Chounlamountry to make contact with police. 

A warrant has been issued for his arrest after a St Albans man, aged in his 20s, was attacked by a male intruder in his Adams Street home in St Albans about 4.45am on Tuesday.

His family took him to Sunshine Hospital where he later died. 

Police are making an appeal for 30-year-old Vatthana to come forward. They have released his image in the hope someone can provide information on his current whereabouts. 

Vatthana is described as being of Asian appearance, 160cm tall, thin build with a shaved head and brown eyes. 

He was last seen wearing a black-hooded top, light-coloured pants and sneakers. 

Police believe Vatthana may possibly be travelling in a back 2008 Mazda CX7 wagon with registration – WUA 161. 

Anyone who sights Vatthana or the vehicle is urged to contact triple zero (000) immediately.
