It might not look like much, but these little plastic bags are making child birth that bit easier – and safer.
Brimbank Central Rotary Club spent part of its meeting last week making 200 birthing kits that will be shipped to Pampanga in the Philippines to help provide safer birthing for women without access to hospitals.
The kits include a sheet of plastic, rubber gloves, gauze, a scalpel and even a string tie for the umbilical cord.
This is the fifth year Brimbank Central Rotary has sent the birthing kits.
