When this distinctive, easily accessible enclave was originally created, it was the developer’s intent to establish an environs reminiscent of Desperate Housewives – minus the skulduggery but with the same degree of potential neighbourly interaction.

This house joins 10 others built in the same style suggestive of Georgian and Cape Cod influences. They face each other across a court bisected with wetland-style landscaping and enjoy fingertip proximity to the main boulevard, walking tracks, bus stop, sportsground, public and Catholic schools and Deer Park Bypass.

Inside, glossy floorboards, stepped cornices and skirts, several french doors, white timber blinds and sandy-hued walls produce a harmonious flow in generous, light-filled spaces, top and bottom. Ranged along the entry hall are an open lounge room, a study with desk and cabinetry, and laundry and powder room sporting stone benches.

Next is the good-sized living hub where the kitchen is a sleek affair with a square-set stone breakfast bench, lots of drawers, opaque-glass overheads, wine racks, concealed dual-drawer dishwasher and Technika underbench oven, gas cooktop and canopy rangehood.

Timber stairs head up to a boarded landing, off which are a powder room, shiny main bathroom with big shower, linen closet and three bedrooms. The large main bedroom has feature fanlight and porthole windows, walk-through wardrobes to a dressing/storage room, and an en suite with a huge shower (rainhead and hand-held roses) and dual basins atop a stone bench.

The living hub opens on one side to an in-ground, solar-heated pool encircled by sealed aggregate; next to this, a glass fence/gate divides off a synthetic grass area and an open pergola above paving – the spot to sit following a swim. On the other side there’s another open pergola and the utility area.

This Caroline Springs cutie has ducted heating and cooling, Rinnai Infinity HWS, understair storage, outdoor speakers, garden shed and a remote-controlled double garage with internal access.
