Lisa McIntosh is undergoing chemotherapy, but not for the reasons you’d think. The Hillside mother of four is battling autoimmune disease and using chemo to suppress her immune system, which is attacking her organs. It’s the latest in a series of setbacks that have plagued the McIntosh family. Despite the hardship, Lisa remains positive, saying:
‘‘I’ll never ever say that I’m terminal, because to me that’s giving in.’’ Friends have organised a fund-raiser for the family at Keilor RSL on August 31. ■ Full story: page 8
