A Sunshine man been charged following a fatal collision in Woolsthorpe last year.
Emergency services were called to Warrnambool-Caramut Road after a van and a sedan collided and caught fire about 5.15pm on Friday 10 January, 2025.
The driver of the van, a now 33-year-old Sunshine man, and the passenger of the sedan, an 18-year-old man from Caramut, were pulled from their cars by passers-by.
The driver of the sedan, a 42-year-old Caramut man, died at the scene.
Both the van driver and the sedan passenger sustained serious injuries and were airlifted to hospital for treatment.
On Tuesday 20 January, 2026 , police charged the Sunshine man with culpable driving and dangerous driving causing death.
He was bailed to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 23 January.
