Thirty firefighters responded to calls of a house fire in St Albans on Monday 27 October.
Crews arrived on scene within 5 minutes to find smoke and flames issuing from the roof of the single storey brick house and escalated the response.
There were no occupants home at the time of the fire.
The fire was deemed under control by noon.
The entire house sustained significant damage and will be assessed by the local council building surveyor for safety of the structure.
Safety procedures have been put in place due to asbestos in the house.
The cause of the fire is not yet known but it will be investigated.
Police and paramedics were also on scene.
