Soccer star visits local club

Keilor Park Soccer Club (KPSC) had a special visit from Wrexham Association Football Club’s (WAFC) former English soccer player Ben Tozer when he held a masterclass for young club members last week.

Keilor Park vice president Nicole Camilleri said the kids attending the masterclass were “stoked” about Tozer’s visit.

“There was a lot of excitement. The kids were lining up for autographs. The coaches were trying to get them back on the pitch to start the drills because they were so excited,” said Ms Camilleri.

“Normally, there’s about 60 that attend [the masterclass] and this year there were 100 so it’s definitely something.

“We had the Wrexham mascot out and the kids really enjoyed that as well.”

Each year Melbourne Victory FC hosts a masterclass for young members of KPSC as part of a partnership between the two teams.

Melbourne Victory organised Tozer’s visit to the club ahead of WAFC’s clash against Melbourne Victory last Friday night, which the team won three to zero.

WAFC, which competes in the English Football League, is majority owned by actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.
