Man charged following Deer Park collision

A man has been charged following a collision in Deer Park early on Friday morning.

It is believed a silver Honda Accord and a grey Nissan Qashqai collided on Station Road, near Tulloch Street, about 12.20am.

Six people inside the Nissan, three adults and three children, were taken to hospital.

A one-year-old girl sustained critical injuries, while a 20-month girl and a 10-year-old girl sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

A 22-year-old woman, 25-year-old woman and 27-year-old man all sustained minor injuries.

The driver of the Honda, a 22-year-old man, was uninjured and was arrested at the scene.

He has since been charged with dangerous driving causing serious injury and negligently causing serious injury.

The Niddrie man will appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
