St Albans man arrested following Southbank burglary

Police arrested a St Albans man following the suspected theft of copper piping in Southbank in the early hours of this morning.

Police were called to reports of a burglary in progress at a vacant building near the corner of Kavanagh Street and Southbank Boulevard, about 12.30am.

Police arrested a 45-year-old St Albans man in possession of a large quantity of copper pipe and a power tool.

Police believe that two other men were also involved in the burglary.

Despite a thorough search assisted by a K9 unit , the other suspected offenders were not located.
