Keilor Thunder has announced its first new signing for next year’s National Basketball League 1 South season.
The Thunder announced that young wing Daniel Poelsma would be making the move across.
“Poelsma moves to Keilor from Diamond Valley where he won joint MVP [most valuable player] and earnt all-star five honours at [Big V] VYCM [Victorian youth championship men level],” the club said in the announcement.
“Averaging 21 points and six rebounds per game last season, we look forward to seeing Daniel become a constant contributor in our NBL1 group.
Coach Liam Glascott said Poelsma will make an impact immediately within the group next season.
“He’s a great, confident scorer that’ll come in and make high IQ plays within our game plan.”
He is the second signing for the men’s team, with Cruz Beasley recommitting for next season. It will be Cruz’s third season with the squad where he brings versatility on both ends of the court.
Grace Graham and Macey Boyle have re-signed for the women’s program.
