As the holiday season unfolds, Western Health has delivered a special dose of holiday cheer to kids on the wards at the Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s at Sunshine Hospital.

Western Health chief executive Adjunct Professor Russell Harrison, and people, culture and communications executive director Adjunct Professor Sandy Schutte were joined by directors from local NDIS provider Symcare, stepping into Santa’s shoes and handing out fun, educational toys to kids spending the festive season away from families and loved ones.

Adjunct Professor Harrison said that it can be hard for children and their families when they are in hospital, especially so in the festive season.

“These toys have really brought the festive spirit to our wards, and we’ve met so many wonderful people handing out these gifts today. On behalf of Western Health, I’d like to wish everyone in our community a safe and happy festive season,” he said.

The gifts were generously donated by Symcare, one of the Western Health Foundation’s corporate partners.
